The Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir plays four octaves of Malmark Handbells and three octaves of choir chimes. They generally play at the worship services once each month. If you are interested in playing with them, either as a full or substitute ringer, please contact Len Trippe.

The Handbell Choir, accompanied by Carolyn Brown, organ, and Helen Tate,
trumpet, is playing Linda McKechnie's arrangement of the hymn, "Glorious
Things of Thee are Spoken" (pg. 731 UMH), music by Franz Joseph Haydn
and words by John Newton. This hymn, first published in 1779, uses text
from Psalm 87:3 and 132:13-14; Isaiah 26:1, Matthew 16:18, Revelation
1:6 and Exodus 13:22.
John Newton was the son of an English ship master who went to sea and
led an ungodly life. He deserted the navy, was retaken and flogged. He
then served on a slave ship. In 1778, while escaping a slave dealer, he
converted. He was ordained in 1764 and served churches in Olney and
London England.
